Isaiah 45:2 (NIV) -'I will go before you and will level the mountains, I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.'
πThe Prophet Isaiah wrote this prophecy (prediction), before the future King Cyrus of Persia, a non-Israelite King, was born. God was going to use King Cyrus to defeat Babylon (who were holding the Israelites captive at the time), and allow the Israelites to return to the promised land and rebuild. In this verse, God was saying (paraphrase); 'I am going to make the impossible possible for you, because this isn’t just about you, it’s about my plan for my people.'
When faced with challenges, we tend to look at our future and envision locked doors and impossible challenges. This verse is a reminder that God is the One who goes ahead of us, clearing paths, breaking barriers, and setting things in motion, before we even show up. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about what’s next, hold onto this truth: You don’t have to move the mountain, God already said He would. So when life feels like a locked room or a mountain you can’t climb, remember:
God is already in the process of making a way, even if you can’t see it yetπ‘.
πBreathing excercise: I recommend you try this before you pray, helps me to relax. Repeat for 1–2 minutes, or longer if needed:
*Sit or lie down comfortably
*Inhale slowly (while inhaling in your heart say): 'Lord, I receive Your peace'
*Exhale gently (exhale): 'I release my heaviness'
*Inhale slowly (while inhaling in your heart say): 'Lord, I receive Your peace'
*Exhale gently (exhale): 'I release my heaviness'
πLet’s Pray: Dear God, thank You for going ahead of me in situations that are beyond my control. When I feel stuck or overwhelmed, remind me that you’re already making a way. Help me trust You with the hard things, the closed doors, and the mountains in my life. I believe you are working, even when I can’t see it. In Jesus name we Pray, Amen.
πFaith based Activity: 'What’s My Mountain?'
Take a few quiet minutes with a notebook or your Notes app and write down:
- One thing in your life right now that feels like a mountain (a challenge, fear, or closed door).
- Then, under it, write this: 'God is going before me, I don’t have to move this alone.'
