Melt my πŸ’• Daily Dose - 1 Corinthians 13:13: Mom gave hugs, hope, and maybe a little dramaπŸ˜†, but love always wins!

1
Corinthians 13:13 (NLT): ‘Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.’
πŸ“This Mother’s Day, let's focus on the lasting power of faith, hope, and love, as today's verse reflects. A mother's love should reflect these gifts through care, sacrifice, and lots of love, leaving a lasting legacy. However, in some cases not every mother-child relationship is easy. Some of us carry hurt... a lot of hurt too.

This verse doesn’t ignore that. Instead, it reminds us that love especially the kind we’ve received through Jesus Christ can help us move forward with Grace, not bitterness. Honoring someone doesn’t always mean agreeing with or excusing everything they’ve done. It just means choosing to love like Christ loves us.  So whether your bond with your mom is close, complicated, or somewhere in between, know this: God sees your heart, your story, and He’s right there with you. You are simply obeying the word of God and choosing to respond with love. Time flies, life is unpredictable, love mom, visit mom, call mom, forgive mom and hug her, kiss her...  They are not here forever...  Blessed Mother's DayπŸ’—

πŸ“Breathing excercise: I recommend you try this before you pray.  Helps me to relax:  Repeat for 1–2 minutes, or longer if needed
  1. Sit or lie down comfortably
  2. Inhale slowly (while inhaling in your heart say): 'Lord, I receive Your peace'
  3. Exhale gently (while exhaling in your heart say)'I release my heaviness'

πŸ“Let's Prayer:  Lord, thank You for the gift of mothers. For those whose mothers nurtured with love, we give thanks. For those carrying wounds, we ask for healing. Help us honor our mothers not through denial, but through Grace. Fill our hearts with the kind of love that reflects You: deep, eternal, and redemptive. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

πŸ“Faith-building Activity: 'Faith, Hope, Love' Jar/Journal/Sticky note

Grab a jar (cup/bowl, whatever u choose) and 3 little slips of paper.  On each one, write:

  • Something your mom (or a mother figure) has taught you about faith

  • A moment she gave you hope

  • A way she’s shown love

If your relationship is tough, flip it:

  • Write how you’ve learned to show faith, hope, and love even through the hard stuff.
  • Stick them in the jar as a little reminder of growth, grace, and God’s love.
