Melt my πŸ’• Daily Dose - Psalm 46:10 - Be Still: Starting the Year by Letting God Lead

Psalm 46:10 (AMP): 'Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.'

πŸ“ Happy New Year! The beginning of a new year often comes with a lot of pressure; bills, debt, new goals, expectations… you name it, for some of us. There’s this unspoken rule that you need to figure everything out. So what happens when you hit a stall? When you’ve tried and tried, you’ve pushed, planned, prayed, hustled, and nothing seems to move. The wheels just aren’t spinning. What's going on Lord? In the middle of this silence, God often whispers something that feels almost impossible to comprehend…

'Be still. Surrender control to Me.' And we think, Be still? Lord, In this mess?? I don’t even know which way is up right now. What do You mean? I am facing eviction, at risk of losing my job, my business, relationships, marriage, nothing is working! It feels like the world is caving in around me. Did I hear you correctly?

Soul Dive: Psalm 46 is attributed to the sons of Korah, a group of temple musicians in ancient Israel, though some scholars also connect it to King David. It was likely written during a time of national crisis, when Israel faced threats from enemies or natural disasters. The purpose of this psalm, especially verse 10, “Be still, and know that I am God” was to remind God’s people to trust Him fully, even when the world around them felt unstable. It called them to stop striving, pause, and recognize God’s sovereignty, assuring them that He is always their refuge and strength, unshaken by chaos or uncertainty.

Ok, Be Still… So what does that mean for me today?
Being still is not about ignoring reality. It’s about letting go when you feel like life is out of your  control. It’s about releasing your grip on outcomes, timelines, and expectations, even when you are tired, frustrated, or scared. You’ve hustled, pushed, planned, and prayed, and still nothing seems to move. Being still is an act of faith. It’s saying, God, I don’t have all the answers but I trust You. Through fervent prayer and intercession, in this stillness, something usually shifts. Our focus moves away from the chaos, the stress, the fear, and back to the One who holds it all together, Jesus, Amen!

As this new year begins, I am learning that stillness isn’t weakness, it’s trust. Today's daily dose is an invitation for us to start the year grounded in faith, surrender, and a deeper dependence on God.  Knowing God is about connection. It’s leaning into Him, seeing His faithfulness in our everyday life, and feeling His presence even when things are not going as planned.

2026 doesn’t have to begin with burnout. Let it start with bowed hearts, placing our plans, worries, and desires into God’s hands and letting Him lead. This year, by faith I am choosing:

  • Total Surrender to God
  • Peace over pressure
  • Faith over fear
AMEN!🫢

πŸ™Let's Pray: Dear Lord, as this new year 2026 begins, quiet my heart and my mind. Please teach me how to be still not just physically, but spiritually. I surrender my plans, my worries, and my need for control to You. Lead me in Your peace, grow my faith, and help me know you more deeply this year. Let your word align in my life, in the name of Jesus.  I shall testify of your goodness and growth in my life with your mercy oh lord. This year shall be filled with knowledge, wisdom, understanding and prosperity in my life. My life shall be an open testimony, an inspiration to others.  Thank you for the gift of life, love, your favor, and mercy. I love you Lord, In Jesus name, Amen.

Mental Reset:

  • What areas of my life is God asking me to release control over?
  • How can I intentionally create space for stillness with God?
  • What would it look like to trust Him more fully this year?
As you step into this new year, may your heart learn to rest, your faith grow deeper, and your confidence remain rooted in his truth in Jesus’ name. May this year bring you peace, God’s abundant blessings, and deeper spiritual growth. May you discover your purpose and walk fully in it, in Jesus’ nameπŸ™. I speak against any spiritual cage, lack, or slumber over your life, in Jesus’ name. May the blood of Jesus break every cycle of hardship, “just surviving,” depression... You are called to live fully and enjoy God’s will for your life, in Jesus’ name. Wishing you a truly blessed New Year. Keep going, keep trusting, and keep shining πŸ₯°. Love ya!
