Melt my ๐Ÿ’• Daily dose - 1 John 4:1 - FALSE PROPHETS๐Ÿ›‘ Be careful who u let lead your soul, Do not confuse charisma with 'God's calling.'

1 John 4:1 (ESV): 'Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.'

๐Ÿ“This verse reflects Apostle John's concern to protect the church at the time from deception, and to reinforce the foundational truths about Jesus Christ and the word of God. He was one of the last surviving apostles and an eyewitness to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  He carried a deep concern for the spiritual well-being of Believers as one of the threats was the rise of a philosophical and religious movement who believed that true enlightenment came through inner knowledge, rather than faith in Jesus Christ (paraphrase).

๐Ÿ“‘Test the spirits’ emphasizes the need to carefully evaluate every spiritual message or teaching.  Unfortunately, his message remains deeply relevant today, reminding Christians to stay rooted in God’s truth, be cautious of false teachings, and to remain rooted in the life and message of Christ.

Spiritual deception is very REAL…  even worse today in my opinion.  Please stay sharp!  In a world full of so called Christians with ‘a gift of gab’, not everything 'spiritual' aligns with the word of God.  Stay rooted, stay discerning, and don’t trade or excuse Truth for TRENDS. Make sure you are not confusing charisma with God’s calling. Some of the loudest Preachers are the furthest from truth...

Start familiarizing yourself with the Bible.  Is your Church only a motivational ‘feel good’ atmosphere, what scriptures are referenced, that is if they even do that?  Are you on point to research on your own to see if it aligns with the word of God?  What does Bible study or conversations with Christian friends look like?  Is it full of ‘know it all’ Pride?  Yes, you have studied the bible, can 'quote' scriptures etc., BUT do you REALLY know the scriptures??  Just had a conversation with a friend/'Minister' in Church who to my surprise had a very farfetched understanding of Grace, Alters & Covenants, Spiritual warfare, etc…  the fundamentals, all referenced in the Bible.  Yet, can quote scriptures at the snap of a finger, even more that I can honestly, but zero understanding.  Makes sense?  Please pray for the spirit to Discern…

Be careful who u let lead your soul.  Make sure you’re not confusing charisma with 'God's calling.  Ensure your faith is in Christ ๐Ÿ›‘ NOT the show.

๐Ÿ“Lets Pray:  Dear God, please guide me to see clearly and hear Your truth. Grant me the wisdom to recognize what’s real and the courage to follow.  Please keep me grounded.  Let Your Spirit guide me so I don’t get fooled by anything that would mislead me and keep me far away from the truth, your word. Keep my heart open and my mind focused on You. In Jesus name we pray.. Amen.

๐Ÿ“How Do You ‘Test the Spirits?’
Testing the spirits is about discernment, not judgment. It’s about being wise, not gullible. Stay rooted in truth, and don’t be afraid to question teachings, even the ones that sound 'spiritual.' Truth doesn’t mind being tested.

๐Ÿ’กDoes it align with Scripture?
If it contradicts the Bible, it’s not from God.

๐Ÿ’กDoes it point to Jesus as Lord?
(See verse 2 that follows; John gives this exact test.) - 1 John 4:2 (ESV): 'By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,'.
Very important, so many times I have heard so called leaders in Church pray and only say 'Praise God',  never 'in the name of Jesus'.  If you understand spritual warfare, you would question 'what God is he/she referencing?

๐Ÿ’กDoes it produce the fruit of the Spirit?
(Love, truth, peace; not manipulation, fear, or pride.)

๐Ÿ’กHoly Spirit Gut-Check:  If something feels off, pause. Pray for clarity. The Holy Spirit helps you spot what’s not from God
