MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Colossians 3:5 (ESV)

'Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.'

Sigh...  The Sins we all deal with in today's society.  We live in such a sex driven society how do we avoid lusting, sexual immorality et el?  We may argue that we are human's and we can't help ourselves sometimes, trust me I know it is hard, I am also battling with this but lets remember what did it really mean for us to accept Christ as our Lord & Savior?  Do a self check think about yourself... What does it mean to you and why did you decide to become a born-again Christian.  Are you going to give God your one hundred (100%) or just when it's convenient for you?  Or are you at least trying, doing the best that you can to avoid these temptations.  Romans 6:16 (NIV) says, 'Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?'

The Apostle Paul wrote today's daily dose (Colossians) to the church in Ephesus while in Prison.  Christians in Colossae where beginning to accept false doctrines probably because it was easier for them to obey rather than the true teachings of Christ.  Accepting Christ as our Lord & Savior does not mean that we change immediately.  It is a process that we have to take seriously and have a willingness to change and obey God's word.  Old habits have passed away however evil desires still tempt us especially in today's society (James 1:13 15).  Remember we never know when it's our time, life can be very short take this step that you have chosen seriously and let's strive to be the best that we can according to the word of God.  John 14:21 (NIV) says, ' Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.'  

Don't we all want God to manifest himself in us?  Let's get serious, omit idolatry in our lives and strive to live in obedience♥
