MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Psalms 145:18 - PLEASE Prioritize Prayer

MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Psalms 145:18 (NLT)

'The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth.'

Prayer should be the most important conversation of the day.  It should be viewed as an intimate time with our Lord & Savior.  I know most people push praying here & there throughout the day which is fine, but I also think that you have to make it a priority to block out at least 30 mins or more a day as your 'me' time with God.  No social media, Tech gadgets off, find a private area and seek the face of God.
Read his word, worship him, focus on establishing a relationship with God.  Yes, you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior but get to know him better.  Ask and challenge yourself about the decision you have made. Why was prayer so important with Pioneer's in the Bible such as Abraham, Sarah, Moses, David, Paul, Elijah?  Study the way they prayed, how they prayed, why they prayed, apply yourself.  We go out of our way to get to know our significant others so we can decide if they are a great fit for us.  Use that same energy with God.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT) says, '16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.'
Let's get out of using prayer as a last resort, God wants it to be our first line of defense.  Prayer should not be a last ditch effort.  It’s kind of like a spiritual parachute.  Get out of running to prayer when there’s nothing else we can do...  God wants us to pray before we do anything at all.
Remember, after Prayer comes meditation.  Prayer is when you talk to God and Meditation is when you listen to God.  When life is rough Pray, when life is great, Pray.  Pray to get to know God not just a checklist of things you want from him.   Even if you sometimes don't have the words to say, just speak from the heart and He will listen.
I know we all know The Lord's Prayer by heart but take the time and read it slowly don't just memorize it, understand the technique of how Jesus asked his disciples to Pray.  Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV)
9 This, then, is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen ♥
