MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Jeremiah 17:5-8 (ESV)
'Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6 He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.'
Self-reliance is depending or trusting on one's own judgement, understanding, or resources, rather than God's. It causes us to put our needs first and God’s will second. To make decisions based on Self rather than relying on the Word of God. Today's daily dose clearly states that you will be CURSED relying on Self or Man. Your life would be compared to a wilderness. We know what a wilderness is like, dry land with no plants or water in sight, now that's scary! Is that what we really want for our lives? STOP leaning on the what we say is the 'reality of our situation' and seek God's word. Leaning on God and leaning on our own understanding represents two different paths in life. The path we are most familiar with is the path of trying to figure everything out, trying to get it all right, relying on our own strength and understanding. The path of leaning on God—of trusting God with all our heart—is the path less traveled by most of us.
Our God is a God of second chances, press the RESET button and start working on relying on God TODAY. You are reading this for a reason! Trust God with your whole heart & being. He created us for a reason, we all have a purpose or path in life. Romans 12:2 (ESV) says, 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect'. The Lord has promised that trusting in his word is like a tree that remains fresh despite the weather. No matter the season because the roots of the tree is fully secure; your heart is planted in God's word, you yearn to seek and obey his word, you have crazy faith that our God is not a liar whatever he says will be fulfilled in your life. Remember it is a process that you have to be serious about to change, start today, Pray about it and apply yourself. It's never too late♥
