Melt my πŸ’• Daily Dose - Luke 18:1 - Prayer Is My Soft Rebellion Against Giving Up...

Luke 18:1 (NLT): 'One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.'

πŸ“If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, 'What’s the point of praying anymore?' this verse is for you. Jesus spoke these words knowing there would be seasons when faith feels fragile, hope is non existent, and when waiting on answers feels unbearable. He shared this story to remind us that prayer isn’t just about getting what we ask for, but about staying connected to the One who never stops caring for us, God.. Persistence in prayer is also the key...

Soul Dive:  The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke, a physician and close companion of the Apostle Paul. Unlike some of the other Gospel writers, Luke was not one of the twelve disciples, but became a follower of Christ who carefully researched and documented the life and teachings of Jesus. When Luke wrote this passage, he wanted to show believers that Jesus understood their struggles, the weariness, the doubt, and the temptation to give up.  At the time, many believers faced persecution and discouragement. They prayed for justice, for breakthrough, for hope and often were faced with delay. Jesus’ parable of the persistent widow (which follows this verse, Luke 18:1-8) was His way of saying: Don’t stop praying. Don’t lose heart. God hears you, even when it feels like He’s silent.

In Luke 18:1-8Jesus tells a story about a widow who refused to give up when it seemed like no one would help her. She kept showing up, kept pleading her case, until justice came. At that time, many believers were weary waiting for God to move, struggling to stay faithful when life didn’t make sense. Jesus used this story to say: Keep praying. Don’t give up. God is not ignoring you, He is preparing you, Amen...

πŸ’‘Mental Reset You may be praying for healing, direction, or peace and it feels like nothing is changing. Faith is not measured by immediate results; it’s proven in persistence. Every prayer you whisper strengthens your spirit, even when you don’t feel it. God is not punishing you with silence, He is shaping your trust. Remember, just because He’s quiet doesn’t mean He’s absent. Every 'not yet' from God carries purpose. When life feels heavy, don’t just scroll social media or engage in other things to distract yourself, instead Pray. When you feel like giving up, talk to God again.  Persistence in prayer keeps your spirit strong when life feels weak.

πŸ™Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, I admit sometimes I want to give up. Infact I entirely give up, questioning your love for me. I get tired of waiting and weary of wondering if You hear me. I question serving you and if perharps I am cursed or not serving you the 'right' way, but today, I choose to believe You’re listening, even when I can’t see the results. With your mercy, please renew my faith, restore my hope, and remind me that You’re not finished with my story. Strengthen my heart to keep believing, even when I don’t see results. I love you Lord and thanks for your grace and mercy. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

πŸ“Affirmation: 'I will not give up. My prayers have power, even when I don’t see results yet. God hears me, loves me, and is working things out in ways I can’t see. I will stay faithful, keep praying, and trust His perfect timing.'

πŸ’ͺFaith in Action:
  • Take 5 minutes today to write one prayer point you’ve nearly or entirely given up on.
  • Next to it, write 'I still believe.'
  • Then pray again feverantly, not because you feel like it, but because you’re choosing to trust that God is still working behind the scenes.
Keep showing up in prayer. What feels like waiting is often where God’s preparing your breakthroughπŸ’•.  Have a blessed Day!
