Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV): 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.'
๐ Let’s be honest, 'Trusting God' sounds refreshing, a must-do as a born-again Christian. We belive this is embedded in us until you’re staring down at a deadline, a breakup, a diagnosis, or an unanswered prayer, omg. Super frustrating! At least for me๐ฉ. Proverbs 3:5–6 sounds simple, but living it out? That takes faith in motion.
'Trusting with all your heart' means choosing faith over fear, even when you don’t feel in control. It means showing up, submitting your plans, and being willing to pivot when God says, 'Not this way.'
'He will make your paths straight' doesn’t mean easy or fast. It means Purposeful. If you’re feeling stuck, confused, or overwhelmed, you’re not doing it wrong. You are just in the middle of trusting. Keep showing up. Keep surrendering. God’s not asking you to figure it all out, just to walk with Him as He does. Belive, trust and let God's will be done in your life๐.
Lets Pray: Dear God, I am trying to trust You but some days, it’s hard. I like having a plan. I like feeling in control. But right now, I am reminded that my own understanding only takes me so far. There is a lot I don’t know, and that’s uncomfortable. Still, I want to lean into You, not just when things are clear, but especially when they’re not. Please help me to release the pressure to have it all figured out. Show me what it means to walk with You, even when the path isn’t straight yet. I am asking You to guide me, even if it’s just one small step at a time. In Jesus name, Amen.
Faith Building Task: Phone Background Swap
- Create or download a lock screen with Proverbs 3:5–6.
- Every time you unlock your phone, use it as a moment to pause and ask: 'Where do I need to trust God today?'
Quiet Questions: 'Release & Receive' Journal/Notes app task
- What’s something I’ve been trying to control or overthink lately?
- What would it look like to trust God with this instead?
- End with a one-sentence prayer: 'God, I surrender this to You.'
Life won’t always make sense, and you won’t always feel in control and that’s okay. What matters is who you are trusting in the middle of it. You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward. Just take the next step, lean into God, and let Him lead you. He’s not asking for perfection, just your heart๐. Have a Blessed Day.
