'Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.'
A Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers and the Single mothers who have taken on both roles. If your Dad has never been in your life or if you are not in good terms like some of us, please let go & Forgive. Forgiveness is the key to freedom. Meditate on today's weekend dose. Honoring your father and mother is one of the commandments with a consequence if we don't abide by it.
That energy can go into something much more positive & productive that will enhance your life. Be the bigger person, pick up the phone, text or email and wish them a Blessed Father's Day if you can contact them. Pray with them also. Release yourself from the burden of hurt & sorrow. I did this morning and I feel so much better, thank God. It's like I lost 50Ibs:-) Praying with my Father was so refreshing, I thank God for giving me the strength and wisdom to obey. In the past years I have refused to acknowledge him on Father's Day as a way to punish him not knowing that I was only hurting myself. As a child of God I can't deny the guilt that I felt...
No matter the situation if he abandoned you, abused you physically & mentally, your mother, just let go, & let God. If you are a single mother whose significant other or ex has not played their part in parenting, forgive... Let your children call their Dad if they have access to him and wish him a Blessed Father's Day. Pray together as a family for him. Remember you are a new creation in Christ look towards bliss, positivity, and don't give the devil any window to keep you in bondage.
If you have no idea who your father is, forgive your mother and call her. Obey the word of God and live a life filled with purpose. God wants you to be joyful, to enjoy this beautiful earth he has created and he has given you the authority, strength and power to make it through adversity so don't cage yourself in bondage. Release yourself and reap the benefits.
