MELT MY ♥ Weekend Dose - Psalms 23 (NKJV) - A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness, For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord, Forever.
As you start this week, meditate on this Psalm and be assured that the Lord is the Shepherd over your life. I know... we all know this Psalm but sometimes when you have memorized something for a while it's meaning gets redundant. This is a very powerful Psalm of faith, assurance & hope that we all can use to get us back on track or keep us in check no matter the season of our life.
A Shepherd takes care of his flock (Sheep), he makes sure they are well fed, healthy, groomed, prevents them from danger as best as he could. He disciplines them, trains them to follow the herd and not go astray. Can you imagine what a challenge that could be. What is our reaction when God disciplines us to get us back on track? #Self-check He makes sure not one of them is attacked by a wolf or dangerous animal. The sheep depend on him, he is their leader. The flock is his day to day responsibility. See You-Tude video below just to give you an idea of the life of a Shepherd today. I am very visual and even though I Know what something means I like to get a visual understanding of it. Even with the Bible, I use Student Life Application Bible because it gives me location, detailed maps, key points etc. Highly recommended click here for more, I prefer NLT. Study Bible
Back on track sorry:-) As a Shepherd is for his sheep so is the Lord over us. This Psalm says it all, gives us assurance that we should lean on God. We may have seasons that we wonder if God really is there for us, it's ok you are allowed to feel that way, even David did, the key is making sure you get back on track. Start this week with a fresh anointing, get motivated it's Spring! Meditate on this Psalm, think of yourself as a Shepherd what would be your expectations from the Sheep? How would you train them? Would you give up on them? And then picture yourself as the sheep. Imagine being in the wild with no Shepard, no direction, how would you survive? Enjoy the brain tease:-) this is how I learn and get a better understanding or perception of things hope it works for you. Remember, God loves you, be rest assured. Have a Blessed week ♥
