MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Philippians 2:4 - How may I help? Winners help other people Win...

MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Philippians 2:4 (ESV)
'Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.'

Helping others or lending a hand should be done out of genuine love, care, concern.  It is not to be done to gain recognition or for a reward.  You are doing it to fulfill God's will & purpose in your life.  You may say, I can barely survive how can I help others?  I am so broken how can I empower somebody else?  I have nothing to offer others, I wish I had more.  The Lord has commanded us to look at the interest of others, to let go of self sometimes.  You do not have to be a millionaire to be able to offer a helping hand.  Whatever little you have of you, can help.  Remember your life as unfulfilled as you may feel is somebody else's wish.  It's TGIF this can be something you can work on this weekend.  Here are a few suggestions on ways you can reach others.  I am not writing these suggestions to sound generic, I am sure this is not the first time we have seen this but I am doing it out of sincerity.  I have been down and thank God for the people who helped me, uplifted me back up.  Complete strangers, not family or friends, God sent people in my life to empower me when I was broken so I take this very seriously and I think as children of God lets make this part of our To-do-list, a priority and get out of self for a minute.  You can be a Blessing to others, believe it and Do it.  I pray that God's promise will be fulfilled in our lives in Jesus name
  • If you have overcome addiction, abuse physically, mentally, sexually, you can mentor others, help & enrich them.  Teach them how to overcome this demon.  Start a group in your local community.  Reach out to a shelter for battered women, abused kids.  They are more than happy to get volunteers.  As broken as you are your experience in life can help others in the right track
  • If you are in Human Resources or if not, you believe you can help people gain their confidence to get back into the work force, you can also volunteer at a library, shelter...Do your research.  I used to help children in 'tough' communities in an after school program. The gift of seeing a child succeed and believing in a better future is the most rewarding feeling words cannot describe.  Some local libraries offer Saturday mentoring programs if you are busy during the week.
  • It can be volunteering at a soup kitchen, you will be amazed how many people depend on these meals.
  • Donating food to a Shelter in your community even if you spend only $10 on food, a half a bread is better than none.  Remember no condition is permanent in life
  • Donating Toiletries - toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning items, hand sanitizers, hand soaps, snacks, food, to your church
  • Again I stress pray for God to give you the spirit to discern.  Sometimes I walk past a mother & child begging, a homeless person and without them asking I am just led by the spirit to give them something and pray for them...  $10, $20, anything.  Some people may say they are on public assistance they don't need to be on the streets etc, believe me when somebody is suffering from the satanic spirit of poverty, vagabond spirit, doesn't matter how much help they get, all you can do is pray that God breaks that chain, that curse upon their lives.  Also living in a big city like NY I have heard stories of Shelters being filled especially in the winter living most to seek shelter in the streets.
  • Donating to Salvation Army, organizing a thrift sale in Church.  There are people whose lives depend on thrift items not for fashion reasons but because they cannot afford the Gap, Old Navy or other retailers. Especially if you have children.  Please donate their items.  Do not throw away.
  • Reaching out to Senior Citizens in your community.  A lot of them are very alone, a phone call, praying with them, checking on them, taking them out for coffee/tea, donating groceries or whatever way they may need help works.
