2 Corinthians 12:8–9 (NIV): “8.Three times I
pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9.But he said to me, ‘My grace
is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness’…”
πWe all have prayers we’ve cried out again and again, pleas
for relief, healing, change. Like the Apostle Paul who pleaded three times for
his 'thorn' to be removed in verse 8, we often hope God will step in immediately and take the
burden away instantly when we seek him. Often times, we get frustrated when he doesn’t.
Instead of answering our prayers, in verse 9 God whispers, 'My grace is sufficient for you'
meaning; 'You don’t need more strength or a solution right now. What
I’ve already given you (My grace) is enough to carry you through.' It’s
the divine force that strengthens you, teaches you, comforts you, and even
shapes you through hardship. It’s love that carries power; the power
to keep going, even when you're weak. It’s not the answer we asked
for, but it’s exactly the answer we need, right now...
God doesn’t always deliver escape, He always delivers
endurance. His power meets us right at our weakest point not by removing the
trial, but by carrying us through it. What feels like a 'no' may actually be a
deeper 'yes', Yes to growing stronger, yes to walking closer with Him, yes to
becoming who we were meant to be. Personally going through this shift right now and I must
say, it has NOT been easy. Very difficult and frustrating sometimes, being
honest, but I thank God for strength.
Letting go of our will to receive His is never easy indeed from my experiemce. But in that surrender, we find peace that doesn’t depend on outcomes and strength that’s not our own. Be reminded that even in your weakness, you're never abandoned. God's strength fills your emptiness, His love covers your lack, and His grace is not only enough, it’s everythingπ.
Let's Pray: Dear Lord, I may not understand Your plan, but I trust Your heart. Teach me to lean on Your grace when the answer isn’t what I wanted. Let Your will be enough for me, always. In Jesus name, Amenπ.
Grace Boost: 'When His Answer Is Grace'
Take a quiet moment and reflect on a time God didn’t answer your prayer the way you hoped. Maybe the door stayed closed. Maybe the pain stayed longer than expected.
Now ask yourself:
'What did God give me instead?'
- Was it peace in the middle of chaos?
- Was it unexpected strength?
- Was it a deeper dependence on Him?
His “no” wasn’t rejection, it was redirection.
