MELT My ♥ Weekend Dose - Isaiah 12:4–5 (NLT)
“Thank the Lord! Praise his name!
Tell the nations what he has done.
Let them know how mighty he is!
5 Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.
Make known his praise around the world.
Gratitude is the act of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. We hear about gratitude so much that some of us are almost immune to it. We know what it means, we think we are grateful, but are we? Are we really appreciative to God for what we have, how ever little it is in our eyes or are we only grateful when we get that 'Big Blessing?' We get so accustomed to complaining that I had an eye opener in church today. I am guilty of it! As I was reflecting on all that is wrong with me:-) I had the opportunity to speak to a Sister in Christ and when she told me that she is borderline homeless I was speechless. She was a 9-5er like most of us, educated, great career but she lost it ALL over the year. It's been one adversity for her through the next but her spirit, her faith, the joy, the gratefulness to God that she portrayed made me really do a self-check. I am probably in a better place than her financially but spiritually I need to get my act together and really reflect on the act of gratitude towards God, our Creator. Let's not take for granted all that he has done or is doing in our lives. I pray that impatience would not lead most of us to lose God's best for us. Please meditate on this tonight and lets get in the act of giving thanks to our Lord & Savior ♥
I love that you referenced Isaiah with this blog of gratitude. Isaiah knew gratitude!
