MELT My ♥ Daily Dose - Matthew 3:10 (NLT)
'Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees.
Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire'
In todays Daily Dose, John the Baptist was telling the people and the proclaimed men of God at the time that God is giving them a warning, a chance to repent and serve him truthfully. They have had many chances, with lots of preparations yet some still preferred to live in religion.
They still had a chance to repent, to be productive in the kingdom of God or will be cut down as indicated in the verse for disobedience. Just as we will see in a later lesson where Jesus cursed the fig tree and it withered and died - Mark 11:12-25. That will not be our portion in Jesus name. Let's do the right thing by making a change in our lives before God does it for us, I am sure some of us know what it means to have the wrath of God upon us.
Another way to look at this verse is for God to cut off any unGodly acts, people, situation in your life that is weighing you down. Pray that God will chop off all it's roots so you can begin to live a wholesome life in Jesus, name. Our God is a God of second chances, it is never too late. You are not tainted, allow God to work in your life and make the decision to worship him wholeheartedly ♥
