MELT MY ♥ Weekend Dose - Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV)
'23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.'
I decided to post this today because I have been very hurt in the past by the Church and the Christian community. If you are lucky that this has not happened to you Praise God, but for some of us, it hurts a lot. Now I understand why the suicide rate is so high these days with Christians.
During my journey the one lesson I believe God wanted me to learn is that I needed to rely only on him, trust him wholeheartedly, seek his face and be assured that he got my back. I have come to learn that you go to church not for the Pastor or your friends but to get the message that God is using him/her to give to you. I have been almost suicidal and reached out to my past Pastor for help and I got no answer at all. I called, texted him numerous times yet NOTHING. Went for counseling and I felt even worse I mean it's a very tragic situation but I thank God for using this experience to make me stronger and closer to him. Went to another church and the same thing happened, I was like God why me? I have even had a situation where the entire sermon was directly about me lol, no kidding, and I am not being sensitive! When someone confides in you even if they are not as faithful as they should be why use them as an example to preach not even a message to uplift them but to make them feel even worse about their situation, smh. I have gone from seating to the back of the church to the front row because I am there for God to get spiritually enhanced.
If you are going through this right now I BEG you please do not let this experience stop you from being a Christian or for leaving a church. Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) says, 'And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.' Remember, it is a relationship with God not with man. No matter how spiritually inclined a Pastor or individual is we are all man of flesh and bones prone to make mistakes. Do not let the devil use this to stop you from obeying God. If you have to find another Church do so, but trust me you may also be disappointed if you do not get to a point of just focusing on God. I know it sucks but that's our community these days unfortunately. You have got to persevere and seek a relationship with God yourself. Don't be so sensitive with high expectations like me:-) Thank God for getting me out of this.
To the elders in Church, I understand how busy and tedious it could be but remember Church is a hospital where 100% of us need help. It's great that we get to worship together however most of us need more than just a service we need to talk to you. If this is the path you have chosen to take as an elder or Pastor then counseling should be a priority. The work of Jesus would have been too easy if he only ministered to Saints he went out and reached the desolate, the sick, depressed, poor, you name it! He created time for them. He trained and instructed his disciples to do the same. Please, Please make this a priority. People need to get trained to know how to reach out and counsel others. The devil is out against our community and if you don't rectify this issue, it's already very tragic. We are not asking that you babysit us however we may be new to Christianity and may need help in certain areas of our lives. Please focus on this.
Again, remember it's a relationship with God. Do not let the devil lead you astray nobody is perfect. Get to a point where all you care about is your growth in Christ. The internet has so many outlets for spiritual growth, take the time to enhance yourself. Remember do not put your trust in man it would only lead to disappointment, Trust in God and he would see you through. I am a living testimony, thank you Lord. If I can do it, trust me you can also. May God guide you through your journey ♥
