MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Proverbs 17:22 - A Wounded Spirit

MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Proverbs 17:22 (NLT)

"A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength."

A wounded spirit is one that is hurting, lives in inner misery focusing regularly on the pain and has festered unbearable negative attitudes and responses.  It drains you physically leaving you broken, crushed; this is a very painful place to be in your life and needs immediate attention.  Our spirit is a part of us, our core, it is the engine to our lives. Life is broken when the spirit’s health is compromised no matter how attractive or  healthy the body may look, the inner can be rotten and eventually brings sickness to the body. The bible says it dries up the bones (Proverbs 17:22 NIV), in today's daily Dose.

The cause of a wounded spirit varies from past hurt such as abuse (mental or physical), sickness,  divorce, the most popular as Christians is changes in life; being unhappy with your life.  Maybe your expectations in life are not going the way you expected.  You had goals you wanted to attain by a certain stage in your life and nothing has happened.  You feel stuck, stagnant.  Maybe you thought your marriage will last forever and now you are heading to divorce, this has left you broken, you are wondering what happened?  You have forgiven those who hurt you yet they still continue to break you, how can this possibly happen?  You are in a bad financial situation, you work your butt off yet you still can't save, perhaps you are heading to bankruptcy and are wondering why me?  You have been believing God for a child and the years just keep coming along nothing has happened, yet your friends who are not Christians and perhaps older are having babies, what's going on?  You have everything you need in life yet you feel this void in your spirit, why is this happening when I am supposed to be happy?  There are so many examples or situations and what's sad is a lot of us are hurting so bad inside yet we look 'happy' or great on the outside. How can we fix this?  You cannot sweep this under the rug and say oh the pain will go away, nope, you have to handle it otherwise it can get tragic and lead to depression, suicide, loneliness, back-sliding.  The bible says, “A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?Proverbs 18:14.

The Bible speaks often of miraculous healing through the work of Jesus Christ and through faith in God. Find a Scripture that will encourage you and help you focus on finding comfort through the healing of Christ both spiritually and physically.  Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV) "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."   The Lord is asking us to bring our troubles to him, confess our hurts, our sins to him, be honest about your situation, seeking the face of God and he would give you rest, he would heal your wounds.  All you have to do is have faith and wait for his timing.

If you get impatient the devil can use this infirmity as a window to ruin your spiritual life.  A very good friend of mine, a devout Christian sister ended up seeking help from a Santeria Priestess because she got tired of her situation and waiting on the Lord. She lost her job, home, relationship, friends, and the unfortunate death of her mother at the time sent her up the wall.  She already had past emotional wounds and this all happened in an instant.  What do you do in this situation? Remember the story of Job?   She understandably became a broken woman and as much as we tried to minister to her to hold on to God, she decided that she needed an immediate remedy because she believed the devil was out to get her and God was taking too long to help.  What she later realized is that she was seeking help from the dark side; In Santeria they make you believe that they are christians worshiping God through Saints. Rather than her situation getting better, it got even worse and she needed deliverance because she had innocently exposed herself to demons, in addition to her emotional wounds she always felt an 'evil' presence around her.  Yes, OMG right!  Thank goodness she has learned her lesson and is on her way to restoration, our God forgives.

If you are suffering from any emotional wounds, you are crushed in your spirit, the first step is to forgive and PLEASE speak to your Pastor or an experienced Christian about your situation, you have got to trust someone, and they can lead you to the steps you need to take. Or depending on your situation you can seek the face of God, find that scripture that you can hold on to and have Faith that God will see you through.  Do not dwell on the past, you are a new creation in Christ. Take it a day at a time and God will see you through.  The only way you can heal is if you Persevere, you can have a little self-pity but you have to get over that fast and focus on healing.  If for instance your Pastor lets you down find another Pastor or help.  When one door shuts another opens.  The devil will try you, just focus on getting healed do not let anything stop you or break you. Your focus should be on God that's it.   Apply yourself, there are so many outlets now to enrich your spiritual life.  You can google scriptures, go on YouTube for sermons, Blogs, a whole lot you have no excuse.  I pray that God will see you through and his anointing will heal you in Jesus name.  Stay focused and keep your eye on the Prize, remember God loves you.  His love is the most important.♥
