MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Isaiah 48:18 (NIV)
'If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your well-being like the waves of the sea'
Obeying God's
word is a commandment that we MUST follow as his disciples.
We may do the best we can but the problem lies in those unconscious habits we may have that can be 'Blessing Blockers' in our lives. You know the saying, 'we learn from our mistakes' or 'old habits never die', God is saying that we don't even have to go through all that IF only we OBEY, make a commitment, a priority, willingness to obey. He has promised us overflowing Abundance; "Peace like a River", if we live in obedience.
What are some of the habits you may have that is against the will of God? Do you often say to yourself 'I am a bad luck magnet', 'I am never great at anything', 'My life sucks', 'I probably won't be able to have kids at my age', P.S. by faith Sarah had a son in her old age, 'Everytime I get too excited, something bad happens (guilty of this one:-) thank God for enlightening me)... and so much more. Do you realize that you are speaking negativity into your life. You are giving the devil a window to stop you from achieving God's best. In Isaiah 48:17 (NIV) "I am the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.'
If only we abide, let go and let God through every season in our lives imagine how peaceful life would be. Your words would change from 'If Only' to 'thank God for delivering me' or for leading me through this storm. E.G. When anxiety comes, immediately reject it and find an applicable bible verse that can build up your faith; Psalms 34:18, 19 (NIV)– "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (19) A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." Keep meditating on it, hold on to it, believe it. Remember he said if you are Righteous, a person of conduct, morality, abides by the law; abides by God's word, you would receive his blessings of getting you out of it, the strength to endure but you will surely be delivered. Get it? Study God's word, apply it to your life, Obey and leave the rest to him. It's as simple as that.
I pray that God's word would deeply enrich our lives and no matter what season it is in our lives our obsession with him won't change. Even after Jesus ascended to heaven, with adamant faith his disciples continued to spread the gospel knowing that they faced persecution but with the guidance of Jesus they did the best they could. Even though most of them ended up being executed, what adamant faith they had and they died knowing they were heaven bound. Think about it... They have handed us the baton what are we doing with it, are we going to pass it on so we can be winners or remain stagnant and loose the race? Are we on our way on being 100% committed to God or are we already there? #Selfcheck ♥
