14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
Jealousy is comparison. From childhood we are conditioned to compare ourselves to others. Who is smarter, prettier, as we get older it gets worse; who has a better house, career, why does he/she always have the best? It's a disease that some of us have got to fight. A way of thinking that needs to be checked. God has made us all special and unique in different ways. I was actually happy to come across this bible verse because it clearly states the result of jealousy... unspiritual & demonic. With jealousy comes envy, bitterness, and then who knows what. In today's society people are getting bullied or even killed because of this disease. If you know you harbor envy in your heart towards others please seek the face of God about it. It's a heaviness in your heart thats really unnecessary. Focus on yourself, empower yourself, bless yourself, speak positiveness into your life, seek ways on how you can enhance yourself, don't get so focused on others. In life, everybody's not going to be the same. I agree things may come 'easy' for some people than others but guess what? That's God's plan for them. Each and everyone of us have a unique destiny, if you are so focused on others you may miss the opportunity of receiving God's Blessings for you. We all have different paths in life. Proverbs 14:30 states "A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot".
Nobody should have that much power over you besides our creator. If you know this is something you are dealing with there is nothing wrong with you. We all have our flaws. It's up to you to change it and make yourself a better person. Do not forfeit God's best for you because of others. Pray about it, seek the word of God and have the desire to change. Our God is an awesome God, forget others, get closer to God and you won't regret it.♥
