Melt my πŸ’• Daily Dose - Colossians 3:15 - Drama-free. Christ-led. Vibes protected by peace...

Colossians 3:15 (NLT): 'And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.'

πŸ“In the chaos of everyday life when stress, disagreements, and uncertainty seem to pull us in every direction, we are offered something priceless, the Peace of ChristThis is not just the absence of conflict, it’s a deep abiding peace that rules in our hearts, meaning it takes charge and sets the tone for our inner world. This kind of peace only reigns when we willingly surrender control and fully, wholeheartedly, put our trust in God.

When we allow God's peace to take control, it calms our fears and redirects our responses especially in moments of conflict or uncertainty. It's the moment you take a deep breathe, close your eyes and pause during an argument. We have all done this, some even add the 5 finger yoga stance to get 're-centered' (not practicing yoga anymore since my growth in Christ, will blog on this later).

A moment like this is you responding with calm and grace instead of anger.  You are taking control of your emotions and not letting the devil take over (aka 'losing it') which always leads to regret. When Christ’s peace takes over, it doesn’t remove the conflict, but it changes how we move through it. I bind the spirit of anger and conflict in Jesus name, Amen.

The Apostle Paul wraps up the verse with a simple but meaningful reminder, 'And always be thankful.' Gratitude has a way of steadying us. It helps shift our focus from what’s missing or going wrong to what God has already done in our lives. No matter the season, smooth sailing, full of stress, uncertainty, we are called to walk in peace and thankfulness.

It’s not about ignoring reality,  it’s about making a conscious effort to recognize God’s presence and goodness, even when things don’t make sense. That kind of perspective doesn't just change our attitude, it changes how we live.

Living in peace and thankfulness isn’t always easy, but it’s the kind of life we’re called to, and the kind that changes not just our hearts, but the world around usπŸ’—.

Breathing Exercise: Let Christ’s Peace Rule - Use this short exercise to center your heart on God’s peace and gratitude:
  1. Inhale slowly (4 seconds):
“Let the peace of Christ…” — Breathe in deeply, inviting His peace into your heart.
  2. Hold your breath (4 seconds):
“…rule in your hearts.” — Let that peace settle in you. Rest in it.
  3. Exhale slowly (4 seconds):
“You are called to live in peace…” — Release tension, anger, fear, or anything that steals your peace.
  4. Pause (4 seconds):
“And always be thankful.” — In the quiet, reflect on one thing you’re thankful for today.
Repeat this cycle 3–5 times, focusing on the rhythm of your breath. As you breathe, quietly reflect on Colossians 3:15 and invite Christ’s peace to settle in your heart.

Let's Pray: Dear Lord, I invite Your peace to rule in my heart today. Quiet the noise around me, and settle the unrest within me. Help me to pursue peace with others and to walk in unity as part of Your body. Fill me with gratitude for all You’ve done, and teach me to be thankful in every season. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Think on itπŸ’:  Take a moment today to pause and ask: What’s ruling in my heart right now? Surrender that space to Christ’s peace. Then, write down three things you’re thankful for and let gratitude guide your day.
