MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Isaiah 53:5 - Jesus Paid it All... #Good Friday

MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose -  Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
'But he was pierced for our transgressions;
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace
    and with his wounds we are healed.'

Today 'Good Friday' is a very touching day for Christians because it signifies the crucifixion  of our savior Jesus Christ on the cross for the redemption for all our sins. The scripture today is a prophecy from the Prophet Isaiah, one of the major Prophets in the Bible.  It's amazing how every detail of his prophecy, corresponds so closely to the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ written over 700 years before his crucifixion.

Jesus was an instant target because he did not adhere to living in 'Religion' but to preaching and  practicing the truth.  He refused to follow the script & traditions of the religious leaders. He was a man on a mission – but the mission was one few could understand.  Jesus Christ taught us how to love like no man has ever loved. He was full of compassion. He continuously extended grace when others were casting guilt. No one was hopeless. Every life mattered. He loved the prostitute as much as he loved the preacher. He said, “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save those who were lost”(Luke 19:20). And that is what he did. He sought out the lonely, the hurting, the destitute, the forgotten ones, the guilty, the hopeless, the rejects of society, and his love transformed them.   Everywhere he went, Jesus changed lives.  But his methods were unorthodox.  He was not full of Pride like the Pharisees and other high ranking religious officials at the time.  He claimed to be the Messiah, but you’d expect him to put on a crown and take the throne, instead he’d pick up a towel and a bowl and wash his disciple’s feet.  The Jews at the time were looking for more power and less humility and love.  Who was this mere man claiming to be the messiah, and not following our rules the audacity of him...

Think about what it feels like being rejected, betrayed, chastised, bullied, by the very people that you love and would do anything for.  They did every despicable thing to our Savior and he bore the pain and embarassment for us.  He did not suffer because he was a sinner (Isaiah 53:4) but in the place of sinful people, us, our sins (Isaiah 53:5).  By his wounds we are physically and spiritually healed.  We also know that through His suffering, Jesus, God’s only Son, paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, including yours and mine.

Today take time to reflect on what Jesus went through, the heart wrenching punishment, how he was humiliated, chastised, betrayed by the very people he loved, brutally beaten and hung on the cross with thorns on his head, his hands and feet pierced with a nail, all because he believed and preached about the truth.   Imagine the pain of dying slowly...  He went through all this for us, do you really appreciate Christ? In your heart, search within, have you really & fully accepted him as your lord and savior   It's one thing to say it and it's another to believe and truly understand what it means.  Yes, we are all anticipating the big resurrection on Easter however how many of us can deal with such humiliation not comparing our lives to Christ but put yourself in his shoes.  Through all this he didn't deny God but stood up for the truth and took up the pain & suffering for the redemption of our sins and that we can receive the gift of eternal life.

If you have not received/accepted this free gift of salvation will you accept it now?  If you are not a born-again Christian or maybe you want  to rededicate your life to Christ based on your better understanding are you ready to start a true relationship with God?
If you want to have a relationship with God, and know that the shed blood of Jesus will cover your sins, pray this prayer right now:

'Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you took the pain of the cross to give me new life. I ask you to come into my life and to give me your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner -- that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive you now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow you and to serve you all my life. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen ♥'

If you prayed this prayer with all your heart, you are now a child of God. The things of your old life have passed away and He has made all things new.  Start a new sheet with Christ today and experience the love, peace and faithfulness of our Lord & Savior and strive to live in obedience to his word ♥
