Charity - A.S.A.P - Anointed Sweethearts Aspiring Progress
This
journey started on a summer afternoon in 2013, the end of the school year
walking past a middle school in my neighborhood when I noticed boxes of
brand new text books put out as trash in the street. I immediately had
flashbacks, growing up in a 3rd world country where text books or even basic
school supplies such as a pencil was so expensive that it prevented most
to get an education. Parents could simply not afford feeding their kids,
clothing them, and spending exuberant prices on education, yet alone
school supplies. A standard Government education at that!
I
envisioned the look on the beautiful kids just being able to have a book they
can use to study, empower themselves, striving to break the curse of poverty...
As a child I remember the smell of a brand new book, how I cherished it,
appreciated it, and to this day I still prefer buying an actual book rather than
an E-book:💖, Forget the convenience, I just like and
appreciate books…
Well,
after that afternoon, yes you guessed it, I went home to get a shopping cart
and took as many books as I could and VOILA, the birth of A.S.A.P.
A.S.A.P
is a non-profit organization aimed at helping children living in poverty in 3rd
world countries with basic needs such as school supplies, food and clothing, with
an emphasis on building a relationship with Christ our Lord & savior.
I
started this charity because I understand the challenges and consequences of
poverty in most third world countries due to corruption. It's unfortunate that
the poor are always the victims considered by most as the bottom rungs of
society with nothing established to elevate them. It becomes
generational...
There
are so many Charity's established but the unfortunate thing is a lot do
not understand the dynamics and social stipulations in third world countries.
It's unfortunate that the rich or the 'higher ups' benefit from these
non-profit organizations instead, rather than the people who really need
and could benefit from this… the poor, or ‘less fortunate’..
We
are very hands-on at A.S.A.P and have no bureaucracy but passion and zeal
to help and empower the less fortunate, while enlightening them on the truth,
the word of our Lord and savior.
Your
help and support will be appreciated and with time I will give updates with
pictures to show our progress. I have friends who are Teachers and
they have been a blessing with donating end of semester school supplies rather
than throwing stuff away. Anything helps, supplies, clothes, food,
Bibles, as long as they are in good condition.
There
are so many who are warriors for Christ in these countries however they are
missing chapters in the Bible because they simply cannot afford to buy one.
Most of these kids have a passion for education at such a young age they desire
for a better future to change the history of poverty in their family for
better. Let us help and make it happen.
