MELT MY ♥ Daily Dose - Matthew 5:13-16 #Prayer #Be a Salt&Light of the world

                 Daily Dose ♥ Matthew 5:13-16(NLT)

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.

14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Today's daily dose may seem long but what a powerful bible verse.  These are very strong prayer points we should be seeking the face of God on.
With all the purposes or benefits of salt what good is it if it's not pungent?  As a child of God we should always stay on our toes, making praying, studying, evangelizing the word of God our priority.  God has stated that we are the LIGHT of the world.  What good of a Christian are you if you are secretive about it or better yet if your actions don't prove you are indeed a Christian.  We should be proud of who we are as children of God, proud of his faithfulness towards us and others.  How can we show our good deeds?
  • Inviting people to church, Bible study, you can even evangelize to someone.  I know it gets a lil weird just walking up to people but you may be at work or school and someone confides in you about a situation they may be battling with.  That's an excellent opportunity for you!  When counseling others please try to be realistic and stick to the subject because I could relate on how easily bored or irritated I would get when someone was trying to counsel me when I was not a committed Christian:-)
  • Be charitable - pay your tithes (will emphasize on this in a different post), offering, donate to charities.  It doesn't have to be monetary.  I always donate items to my local Salvation Army (see link below) and every time I go there I am literally in tears because there are people whose lives depend on shopping at Salvation Army including their children.  Now I may pick up something vintage their for myself  once in a while but at least I have a choice and I am grateful to God about that.
  • Start a non profit in your community.  Does not have to be big, start small.  My charity is on education will emphasize more later, link is on this blog still working on it.  I have a local school in my neighborhood and one day I found box's of new books that was trash.  I could not believe it!  I hurled them into my lil NY apartment and will be sending them to a school in West Africa as well as a few other items such as Bibles and school supplies.  Just an idea!  A friend of mine told me that Bibles believe it or not are a luxury to people in some parts of the world, meaning it's unaffordable.  Also with corruption in most parts of the world donated items from big charities are usually sold to the locals.  Very unfortunate...
  • Don't hide your talents in church.  Participate in whatever area you best fit.
  • Last but not the least, TESTIFY, TESTIFY, TESTIFY!!!!   People get Blessed or hyped about the goodness of God in others.  Talk about it, scream about it, Do not hide it:-)
