Proverbs 15:13 (NLT): ‘A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit.’
๐This verse is not saying, 'Cheer up and smile more.' It’s simply stating the reality; a broken heart will weigh down the soul. If you are in this season. the good news is God will never leave you in this sunken place if you seek him, because Jesus gets it. He was sometimes referred to as the 'man of sorrows' for a reason because he did not just witness pain from a distance, He lived it, physically and emotionally...
Rejection. Grief. Physical suffering. Deep emotional anguish, he carried it all! And because of this, He is able to meet you in your sorrow, NOT with judgment, but with understanding. Isaiah 53:3 (NLT): 'He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.'
Psalm 34:18 (NLT) also reminds us that: 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.' This means in your lowest moments, the 3AM anxiety spiral (always get this one!), the silent crying, the mornings when getting out of bed feels impossible, God is closer than you think. So if your face doesn’t look happy today, that’s okay. God isn’t asking you to fake it. He is inviting you to be real. Even if all you can whisper is, 'God, I feel crushed in my spirit,' that’s more than enough. He meets you right there. God is in the business of reviving the weary soul๐.
Your job isn’t to have it all figured out. Your job is to surrender. Trust that he has not let go of your story, and let Him breathe life into what feels dead today. May God's love, annointing, healing and protection be upon you today and always, Amen๐.
Let's Pray: Dear God, my heart feels heavy but I know you are always near. Thank You for seeing me, staying with me, and loving me as I am. Fill me with Your peace, even in this place. Remind me that joy is still possible, and hope isn’t gone. Thank you Lord for healing my heart, In Jesus name, Amen๐.
Soul Whisper: Where have you been feeling tired in your soul? Is it the pressure to keep it together? The fear of being too much or not enough? Be real with God about the parts of you that feel worn down. He is not waiting for the polished version of you. He is with you in the unraveling. You can Journal or write in the notes app, find this helpful.
๐Affirmation: God is NOT waiting for the perfect version of me, He is with me in this season. My struggles do not scare Him. I don’t have to hide, rush, or pretend. I am held, seen, and slowly being restored by grace. Amen!
